The Trezkinn Cave is accessed via the Donna Cave car park 1.8 Kms from Chillagoe and is considered by many to be the prettiest of three show caves in Chillagoe 200 Kms west of Cairns. The Trezkinn Cave takes its name from a combination of surnames of the two armature cavers who discovered it.
The slow evaporation has allowed spectacular formations to be created and includes stalactites that have branched to form chandeliers. The entrance to the cave is a steep combination of steps and ladders leading to a platform that circumnavigates the chamber below. There are sparkling formations everywhere caused from newly formed white and gold crystals created from a combination of calcite and iron oxide dissolved in the rainwater that has soaked through the porous limestone bluffs, slowly solidifying from the limited airflow within the system.
